Stuck at "Receiving data"?

So I just got the mod installed and wanted to try it out, but whenever I join a server it always get stuck on Receiving data at about 80% or so. I tried alot of servers and so far its happened on all of them.

Do any of you know why its like this?

It's a new craze, people are flicking their beans in excitement at the prospect of waiting 15-20 minutes to enter a game. I've spent upto 50% of my nights off talking in the chat lobby asking if anyone else is having problems getting into the game, and almost everyone does, yet they keep coming back for more. But seriously, it's normal, the game is in its alpha stage and you have to expect such problems.

So it's still possible to get in? Just need to wait a very long time? :P

I'm having this problem right now, too. Any way to fix it, or do I just have to wait it out?

I'd personally recommend switching the game off, checking back in here for news of the official release every week or so, once it's out, try again.

The game is kind of addictive, and strangely it has the power to make me keep trying to get in, thus wasting vast amounts of time doing so.

I guess you're right. Spent almost 2 hours trying to get in, 2 hours wasted.

I had the same problem but it would kick me back to server list after a few minutes. Reinstalled Arma2, arma2OA and dayz and then I could connect to a server on the first try.
