Bhaywardio 1 Posted August 14, 2012 TL;DR- I'm new, I wanna learn the ropes, give me a chance!Hey there, I'm Bhaywardio (Bee-Hey-Word-eee-oh). Don't worry, there's a story for why I feel the need to give the pronunciation. This topic has 2 purposes. The first being to introduce myself and see which direction I'll be taking in the coming weeks, and the second being to get some general tips and tricks to avoid that nasty sniper fire. First, some stuff about me. I have been a console/pc gamer for awhile now, but my underperforming rig has collapsed. While in the process of building my new one, which should be complete next week, I have been researching new games to partake in. This led me to this gem. Killing zombies in a realistic and unforgiving environment? Count me in. I already have extensive medic experience by the games of killing floor and Battlefield 3. I am usually willing to give up superior numbers for the team, and will do whatever is in my power to ensure that everyone can play on a level playing field. After thorough research, I have found this can be a bit of a problem in DayZ due to hackers and sniper-bandits. I am also 19 years of age, so you won't have to worry about a 12 year old screaming about glitches into your ear. I only speak when it's necessary. Now, here's my sales pitch. I don't want to come into the DayZ world a lone wolf. It might be best to tailor my skills that way, and if so tell me ahead of time, but I propose another idea. Induct me as an initiate into your clan, so that you may tailor a player with the values and traits that you see fit. That way, I'll be more privvy to working with teams, avoiding Pking and other nastiness. I'm good as a medic role, usually with an assault rifle. I prefer keeping the team fighting than to be a one man war machine, but that won't stop me from letting the bullets fly. I understand the necessity of strategy, and pre-planning. I am a big fan of the "if your going to stand in front, crouch down to make a wall of fire". I am also very creative, and can usually come up with fresh ideas pretty quickly. I would prefer helping newbies such as myself, but at the same time not holding their hands. Gotta learn for themselves don't they? I propose a startup system, using acquired gear to get them started and pointing them in the right direction. Maybe even use advance-scouts to see if an area is safe, and send in a trader to acquire some better tech. So, give me your thoughts fellow zombie slayers. If your opinion is that I am way off the radar, than I will continue my research, watching the bandit vids to learn their ways, seeing the tricks that can be used to combat having everything you own looted and destroyed. Thanks in advance!

Bhaywardio 1 Posted August 14, 2012 Perhaps, it would be a grand time to run the streets of Cherno with nothing but my hate for zombies

Bhaywardio 1 Posted August 14, 2012 Yes, I've found that it's actually best to hit up the high stakes areas when you first spawn, since the second you get a fancy new gun you don't ever want to trek out with it.
