CraKinShOt 1 Posted May 28, 2012 The player spawning could do with some work I think. There are two possible solutions; A) you're not allowed to spawn until the area is clear of other people. B) your spawn location is moved away from buildings and/or people. The first option probably seems like the most reasonable compromise, possibly with a time-out of 5 mins after which you're moved out of the area. The reason why I think this is important is because I shot a guy simply because he appeared (from the aether) literally in front of me. Proper scared the crap out of me and I shot him 15 times in the head. I usually don't shot people, even if I easily could ; I'll wait for them to move on. Sure he was stupid for spawning in a supermarket, but I still feel bad for killing someone that may or may not have been a good guy.

VLPR 1 Posted May 28, 2012 I think we should just have more variation in possible spawn locations. Now we seem to have like 15-20 possible spawn spots. It makes spawn camping harder, if there is only 1% chance of someone spawning there. Spawn locations should be just randomly somewhere on the beach. This ofcourse for first time spawningIf you are just logging in on your living character, it is your fault if you logged off on a popular spot. Just run some 100meters in the woods and log off there. CraKinShOt 1 Posted May 28, 2012 Still, you could have someone spawn in on your from behind, even though you've cleared the building. Its not really fair on that person if they are killed then. For a game that is seemingly "realistic", having people appear out of thin air, in front or behind you, is probably not a good feature. It also doesn't take long to work out how to exploit this, if you work with someone else over TS. Razor (DayZ) 0 Posted May 28, 2012 I don't see any problem with dying at a spawn since i didn't achieve anything anyway. Not that i was ever killed at a spawn.Although i see little point in spawncamping if you can just fire up singleplayer. If you logged off in a dangerous area it's your own fault. VLPR 1 Posted May 28, 2012 Dying at spawn becomes a problem when game spawns you back at beach with no reason, when you log back on. Then only thing you can do is to spawn in night server and run away from the beach.
Razor (DayZ) 0 Posted May 28, 2012 That's a bug you are talking about. I am sure it is being looked in.Alternatively you can report it and get your gear back.
