Question about re-installing Arma II and DayZ

Hey folks, my DayZ doesn't want to co-operate and work with the newest patch. If I uninstall Arma 2 and DayZ will I lose all my items (I'm assuming they are client side)? I've tried using Six Launcher, Six Updater, DayZ Commander and so forth. Nothing seems to work. I've downloaded latest OA beta patch.

Nope, your toon is safe on the hive. But here is my suggestion:

1. Open Six Launcher and allow it to update your Arma2:OA

2. Download the 2.5 zip file from the torrent here on this site

3. Extract zip file

4. Copy contents of zip folder to arma:oa/DayZ/addons (if you are not prompted to replace the current files your not in the right directory)

5. Launch Arma2:OA from the .exe in the game folder, DO NOT RUN SIX UPDATER OR DAYZ COMMANDER

6. Use in game server browser like a Pro

If you try and run one of those launchers afterwards it will rewrite all the DayZ files back to the 2.4 release
