TheMachine 803 Posted August 13, 2012 I keep reading so many posts with people saying (probably wrongly, ironically) that their PC that CAN run arma 2 won't be able to run DayZ standalone if it's on Arma 3's engine.They protest and demand the standalone be kept on this engine (despite the hacking and crap) because they want to try to play games on a fucking potato.YOU CANNOT PLAY MODERN GAMES ON A FUCKING POTATO.I'm sorry, but once the standalone goes live, this mod should be entirely shut down, close the hive and force people onto the real game.You can't stifle progress just because your computer sucks balls.Oh, and Rocket's going to make it on whatever engine he wants anyway, so the crying needs to end. Even if rocks stop the support, there are already tons of private hives, with another maps. Prion 61 Posted August 13, 2012 the standalone will be much better optimized than ARMAII's engine. rocket has already confirmed that the standalone already has builds, and will be a custom engine that's a hybrid of armaIII and armaII, grabbing what is most appropriate for the game.
