No dust No over heating at alll.

I just revently clean both heatsinks and applied new thermal paste, thought maybe that could be the problem.

I was having the same problem as you. I did two things and so far so good. Don't know if will help you though.

1- make sure your Arma 2: OA, DayZ mod and Battleye files are updated.

2 - update your graphic board drive and (if it allows you to) change the settings for Arma 2 rendering (I changed the FFAX to driver-managed)

Lastly, make sure you run the game on updated servers.

Thank you .

Yea i looked into it more and I think its my GPU, Issues with this P-7811fx series of MB having soldering issues for the gpu causing this to happen after awhile with excessive heat.

I ordered another MB so hopfully that helps. ;)

Thanks for the Info too.

If you get a black screen it's 99% GPU experiencing a catastrophic failure. I have a similar Gateway FX laptop and all I do is keep an object underneath the rear of the machine to give it a little extra airflow. (I use a plastic cartridge holder from a box of Winchester 9mm which would have otherwise been pitched in the recycle bin).

Cheaper than a new mobo and worth a shot(pun intended).

For real? Having the same issue and have been monitoring temp of my HD6800series and there has been no excess heat. Other games run fine (LoL, Skyrim etc). Also had been playing DayZ

heaps before this started to happen. Could it have anything to do with latest Arma2 patch?

I think the latest ARMA2 patch is to blame.

Have had the black screen with 2 GPUs (1 brand new) since the latest patch.

Video Memory settings appear to work differently now with Very High giving 80fps and Default giving 20+fps..
