Coughing, now what?

I started coughing for no apparent reason and wonder if this will might go away with time. My temp icon was green and apparantly ok, but I might have been in a fight with a zombie at some point. There is no reason to believe I got cold and sick because of bad weather.

Health dropped by 3 every other second, yet blood loss stopped at 5999 from what I could tell. After a while and immediately after eating some food to get to about 7-8000 blood, the blood loss started again.

I sat a while by the campfire but this didn't really help.

I never found any antibiotics at the hospitals so I am at a loss at what to next to improve my overall health.

It should stop when you leave the server and reconnect, atleast, it always has for me when I've started coughing..

Youre infected. This can happen (very rarely) if you get hit by a zombie while bleeding I beleive, or being cold. You need to find antibiotics (also very rare, found in hospitals) to cure it. eating food or using bloodbags are a waste, for you will loose blood constantly till 6k. As you said you also cough alot, which is very audible to other players.

I love it, had it once, weeks back, i hope its back and working now.

Yes you need to get warm too, need a fire or get indoors and use heatpacks.

But indeed, it seems humanity is back and you will need antibiotics indeed, very rare find indeed.

Don't have them at the moment, only place i found them was hospitals

i'm sick too, just saw antibiotics like an hour earlier in some camp and thought "haha won't be needing that" :X FML

Thanks. I will say no the offer of antibiotics for now. I am having so much trouble trying to connect to servers and I don't know why. I also seem to spawn on the shore/coast when moving onto a server. Lost all my stuff because I spawned on the beach and looked to my left, then immediately got shot at, I turned to look to the right and then saw this guy lying down only 3-5 meters away shooting at me with a pistol.

I got infected once too, and I was all the way beyond the NW airfield. Got in a bit of a hurry when I realized the nearest hospital was on the other side of the map. I ran straight to Cherno only stopping to feast on some animals I came by to replenish my blood. Good thing I found antibiotics on the roof of a hospital. All in all a great survival experience.

Or just chill. Got infected myself today (by zombie bite, so no cold) and thought I srsly had to find the antibiotics or be coughing forever.

Well, after about 30 minutes (w/o relog or anything) it just vanished by itself.

Heat packs will help you from getting an infection, but don't seem to do any good once you're infected.

My best advice is to avoid being outside in the rain at night. Or at least pop heat packs or make a fire of you do.

Antibiotics are rare, so be prepared to hit a lot of hospitals until you find some.
