Combat Go-to tent? New DayZ tactic? Read to find out more.

Recommended Posts

I was playing with my DayZ 'crew' Sean, John and Jordan at the NW airfield. We we're sitting on the South mound over-looking the airfield when out of nowhere I get hit, I'm knocked out and bleeding but my timer ran down in time for me to bandage, I was running the M4A3 CCO but had no idea where I was shot from, my friend John was then hit by what seemed to be an DMR as it hit him straight out, dead (he was carrying the L85 so we picked it straight up from his corpse). Clearly I was shot by a different weapon as I went down to just 9k blood after the original shot, but anyway. Sean was running a DMR so he span, spotted the two guys and killed one of them. The other one ran into a tree and aborted. When we were sure he was gone, we went to loot his body. This guy had a DMR so that confirmed what John was hit with. But this is the interesting part, I ran into the woods to make sure the guy was gone and by freak accident stumbled upon a Czech backpack intentionally hidden by a tree, Im a tad confused at this point but of course, I look in it and there is an M107 in it, as well as a couple of bloodbags, some morphine, bandages, Epi-pen ect.

The purpose of this post is to ask you guys on the DayZ forums, is this a common tactic to have backup combat supplies nearby incase of PVP action? Do you guys use this tactic? have you ever come accross anyone using this tactic? Let me know!

Cheers!

Jamie.

Close to the barracks? One of them may have hoped to pick up a Coyote then fill it with whatever else was left in there that they needed, then decide what was expendable back at the Czeck backpack.

Plus dropping your backpack makes you less of a target.

I've thought about it as a tactic but have always been too sketchy on dropping any of my gear so I've never bothered to try.

I've been through that possibility, but it was in a forest on the opposite side of the airfield to either barracks! Relatively far from the hangars too. Also, if your shooting at somebody anyway, your more of a target than when just wearing a backpack.
