Pale_Rider 2 Posted May 2, 2012 Got your NATO weapon?Stocked up on blood and bandages?Got a full pack of ammo?Know your way around the map with your handy compass and map?Got a few friends together?Well it's time to get yourself a tank.Or a plane.Or a boat with a mortar. But you'll need all that stuff I listed above because the place is infested with a hoard of the dead. They just keep coming! I propose a few areas of the map where there's a lot of undead in one place with a quick respawn. Somewhere in the midst of them is a powerful vehicle, gun, even a special defensible location. It takes a coordinated team of well-armed survivors to reach it. There can only be one on the map at any given time and one it breaks or runs out of fuel, it resets.Coupled with my character motivations idea, I think this would really motivate people to leave those starting cities and explore the map and work together. sgtsnug 26 Posted May 3, 2012 As is most villages work like that, if you choose to stand your ground and kill a few zombies in a church for example with anything louder then a pistol you get an endless horde of zombies just funnelling into the doorway cause they keep re-spawning.right now zombies need a lower spawn rate, and I don't see any reason you'd need a tank or a mortar or even a plane considering it can only land in an airport anyway.right now finding, fixing and escaping with a car is hard enough and a helicopter well I have yet to see it done. The reason most are going for vehicles when in groups is so they can pick up recently killed players quicker or get to a loot-able area faster if it's a bit far.I admit you need something to do near the end game so there does need to be a few more 'military areas' with high tier loot and more zombies, but not endless zombies. vedicardi 7 Posted May 3, 2012 I like the idea of there being special areas that are constantly horded with zombies with no resupply locations nearby and good stuff in the middle of it. That'd be really interesting.
Pale_Rider 2 Posted May 3, 2012 Thanks! And I agree with you SgtSnug, maybe not endlessly spawning zombies but they come back quickly and en masse so you need to do what you came to do and get out. It keeps people from camping there since ammo is in short supply. And like I said, couple with humanity rewards for accomplishing character motivations, I think it has potential to increase the inherent depth of the game without resorting to punishing players. It's all about incentivising good play with layers of immersive concepts.
