Helicopter Repair

I have recently found a helicopter on the coast off of Chernogorsk.

The state is bad. It looks completely blown to bits.

However, I can still interact with it.

I can save and when I have items to repair it with I can add them to the helicopter.

I have put on the Main Rotary Assembly, Engine Parts and fed it roughly 15 scrap metal (mainly into the hull).

My question is:

Have I pointlessly been repairing a bugged/unfixable helicopter, can it actually be repaired in this destroyed state, or can you only repair choppers that are just spawned?

If its blown up you need to wait till the servers restarted.

as far as i know if you can add parts/repair it is fixable i may be wrong
