Seasons in DayZ?

Recommended Posts

I just started playing on DayZ about 3 weeks ago so I am not exactly sure, but does DayZ offer seasonal changes? (ie. Winter)

And if it does not, I am curious as to if you guys would want seasonal changes implemented into the mod, and why ?

Just wondering :D

Rocket can set the game to a different date in the DayZ mission, but it won't affect the game beyond how the stars look and how long daylight/nighttime will last.

If he sets it to Winter, it won't snow. He could script in snowflakes, but the ground wouldn't turn snowy.

Surely it would be a cool thing to have, though.

No, and no.

It wouldn't really be possible without an incredible amount of effort from the developers. I'd much rather they work on other things.

Well of course. I completely agree that it would take a great amount of effort, and I also agree that there are other things that should definitely come first; just thought it would be a neat thing once more important issues have been tackled.

I think I'd be cool to have snow, make the hardships different, and make different obstacles in your way, stuff like that. But client-wise, I don't believe it's possible. Maybe in Arma III. We can only hope.
