They spend all their time making you care for this character, giving you something to cheer for, making them grow more powerful, it ends up making them come off as invincible. So they need something that can top them to make it suspenseful again and keep your interest. It's a common thing in nearly all media. Batman and Bane, Kirk and Kahn, Sherlock and Professor Moriarty, Dora and Swiper. Characters that don't get that check become dull and boring, like Superman.DayZ has enough drama and suspense built into its gameplay already, it doesn't need an artificially powerful character to boost it. It's supposed to be grounded in reality. In reality you aren't invincible, and in DayZ you generally don't need to be reminded of you mortality. You are constantly reminded that you're fragile when you're forced to eat, drink, or rely someone else for a transfusion.If you want to end large groups and long lived people, go out and hunt them yourself.
