Alt+F4'ers logging into game in zombie thunderdome.

I know there have been threads such as this one, threads that combat the exploit of alt+f4'ing. But hear me out.

Every time someone alt+f4'ers in this game, they log out and leave the game normally. BUT: Once they log back in, they find themselves in a thunderdome with no gear, much like the ones that hackers commonly make, but instead of other players shooting at them, they have to fight hordes of more and more zombies. They will be able to find, or be given at the start, a 1911 with 5 mags. The amount of zombies spawning never stops growing until the person is overpowered and dies. Another twist to it would have the weapons degrade slowly over time (I'm looking at you pirated copy of Operation Flashpoint) so that the zombies simply can't be stopped, frustrating the alt+f4'er to no end.

This would work as a frightening punishment to trying to find "a quick exit" from the game to save your precious gear. The best part is it would require minimal effort from the developers, as teleporting players to thunderdomes, degrading weapon quality, and scripting in hordes of zombies are all possible right now.

See that would be the issue. The solution would be the degrading weapons, 1911 with only 5 magazines, and ever increasing horde. It would only lead to death, no chance of survival.

So you're saying that nobody can ever quit, ever? Because if you have to go somewhere IRL quickly, and you just quit in the middle of a forest, you're fucked the next time you join.

I should've applied a "whilst in combat" addendum to my original post. Alt+f4 is reasonable in a situation where you are not currently being preyed upon by other players, zombies, a really big drop from a tall building, etc. But it's the rampant misuse of it that ruins it.

Like I said in reply to xChronicles, alt+f4 is applicable in certain situations, but using it as an exploit to avoid circumstances where death might occur should have severe consequences.

Like I said earlier to xChronicles and OMGWTFBBQ, it is applicable in some situations, like when you AREN'T in combat, and need to leave, fast.

So like I said I agree with your points that it shouldn't be a 100% chance that you get zombiedomed when you Alt+f4. When you use it as an exploit to avoid being killed however, it should.

I use Alt F4 since its the only way i can close the DayZ game window to reply to any messages that come through my steam chat, i dont run DayZ through steam, when i try, for some reason lots of the servers become unavailable, & since im one of the head admins for a modded killingfloor server, i need to be able to access my steam group chat when my assistance is needed to deal with game exploiters or team griefers, so for me this suguested solution to those abusing the Alt F4 to evade death is like punishing the majority for the acts of a few.

Im a moron, i just realised i dont even use Alt F4 at all, i use Alt & TAB to close the game window to repsond to steam messages, derpa derp.

I have ppl dc on me all the time... so fucking what, alt f4ers are such a non issue 'boo fuckin hoo you dont get +1 kill on the scoreboard' with all the duping and hacking and serious lack od admin tools to combats it, your issue is of little concern... maybe 100,000 on the list of issues that need to be addressed.

or how bout they make it like any rpg game.. when you alt f4 or dissconnect your character stays in the game for 10 seconds so even if you alt f4 you still have 10 seconds to get pwned
