Zombie kill count: does it reset when you change skin?

So I found a camo suit, and I had some 80+ zombie kills with this character, but from the moment I changed skin my zombie kill count was back at 0. Is this normal? I don't recall this happening the other times I changed suits.

It's normal, as far as I'm aware, but not permanent. Happens to me everytime I switch. When you disconnect and reconnect, it should return to your old count.
