Feint (DayZ)

Mouse issues(Aiming and Shooting)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals,

So today I've been having some real trouble with DayZ in regards to the mouse.

More specifically; I can't aim or shoot. The mouse as a whole functions perfectly fine outside of the mod, otherwise I wouldn't be able to click anything. ^.^ I can zoom with the right mouse button, but no ADS and no shooting. The controls menu shows that all the buttons are linked in the correct way.

Just to give a bit more information, when I click the right mouse button I go into a walk, pressing it again restores my run, this isn't linked in the control menu which confuses me, furthermore despite me holding an Enfield that I know contains 10 rounds, there is no text at the top right of the screen stating I even own the weapon.

The weapon isn't lowered or not selected, it simply won't ADS or shoot.

Perhaps some of you may have more light on the subject than myself?

Thanks in advance :)

tl;dr - I can't ADS or shoot despite my mouse working fine, nor does the game show that I own a weapon in the top corner.

Pressed 'F' in an attempt to find a solution.

My character decided it would be hilarious to fire every round out of my Enfield without me even controlling it.

Needless to say my jimmies are slightly rustled.

:(

The reason you walk with a single right click is because you are technically aiming down sights, even if you don't have a gun in your hand at the time it will slow you to a walking pace.

Pressing F once will show you your weapon/ammo, pressing it multiple times will cycle through your different firing modes (burst, single or full auto) and then will start cycling other equipment like smoke grenades etc.

Coming back from an Alt + Tab can cause you to fire sometimes, and if you are on full auto, bye bye clip.
