Holstering / Lowering weapons

Hey everyone,

Being relatively new to the game, I was curious as to whether or not you can holster or lower a weapon.

For the time I've been in DayZ, I've noticed a big problem upon seeing other survivors is that we both appear to be aiming weapons at each other and saluting takes up quite a bit of time that I think would be put to better use in the lowering of a weapon.

I'm aware that this has been brought up in a few separate topics but I never really saw a definitive answer.

I apologise if this is a really nooby question so thanks in advance. :)

press "crtl" twice to lower your weapon :)

Or hold richt ctrl and press r

You can set this in the controls options to an other key if you like.
