Blacklist

Hey dudes,

we all know ALT+F4 death dodging is a serious issue in terms of fairness and gameplay. I played quite a lot this weekend and a couple of time I had PvP fights with survivors/bandits who choose the easy way to escape instead of taking their death like a man. This realy fucks me up, it not only prevents me from looting the guy I chased for 20 minutes its just a unfair doucbag style of abusing the system to gain profit. I mean I chased this one guy through pitch black night with heavy rain and shot him down, went to his corpse to give him the final shot and he just disappeared and my bullets went straight into the dirt.

So I personaly ban all those tards from my server but what is the deal, there are 200 other servers to cheat the system on.

My suggestion is a global Blacklist we server owners feed our bans to.

What the Blacklist will be:

-Its a List/Database admins feed their bans or people they have an eye on to, no matter which reason. So it cant only be used to detect possible death dodgers, trolls, griefer, racist, all the scum that destroys your experience and server community.

-Names and reason should be public, so people know that we are watching them, its not intended to lead in instant banning those dudes from all servers, they should know we have an eye on em so they change their behaviour to avoid further restrictions.

-If someone is not reported for a span of for example three month, he can be considered rehabilitated and will no longer be displayed in the list.

-A plugin, scanning the playerlist of the server and giving a message to admins if someones GUID is blacklisted. I think via Rcon will be the easy way.

What it will not be:

-A global banning system. Being banend on one server and added to the list doest not mean instant ban from all participating servers. In fact every admin has other rules and other style of leading his server, bans cant be shared automaticly. Its the admins decision to add someone who is reported or to give him a chance on his server.

So whats do you think about this? Is it worth it? Any problems I didnt think about? Your thoughts please. Thx for reading,

We have been keeping a list of names and guids of death dodgers on our server...as yet we dont ban, just kick if they try to reconnect and tell them we dont want them populating our server...but if/when a ban rule is implemented they will be banned immediately.
