BE replacement

Recommended Posts

Hello there fellow (hopefully non-hacker) community members. We all know that battleye is doing a horribad job at keeping hackers away, it was simply never designed (nor the game engine) to handle a complicated mod like this. It has now been months and BE is doing rather worse than better at catching hackers.

What is the problem with BE? Simple.

The game engine was designed to be as open and easy to use as possible; for this to be possible arma 2 server was designed to simply spread the information between players rather than actually process it (like many games).

I don't wanna go into this long piece of shit explanation but here's what's up.

The current exploit (WIDELY USED, I have been running it for.... months) is removing trees and grass. (no I will not explain how to do it, fuck off [is now detectable and will soon be bannable offense]). I was one of the original (if not the first) players to use it and here's how I accidently found it.

Couple months ago I had a friend join me and my crew, from the start he mentioned that zombie count was 0/0 but for the rest of the server it was ~250/270 (also happens that he couldnt see female characters, so i guess he had some model corruption). The key here is he claimed he did not see a zombie nor was he attacked in almost 2 hours of play time (he ran through elektro and cherno before we met up at Balota airstrip where I realized he couldnt see my female (at the time) character.

Blablablablabla, more lame wall of text shit.... basically here's the deal:

Player enters a zombie spawn area and server lets the client know zombies should spawn around here.

Client does not have the file for zombie.pbo and does not render the zombies

Server asks if the player can confirm zombie locations

Client claims non on the server

Server agrees and de-spawns the zombies (this happens in real time; thereby zombies dont even spawn)

Same thing with the tree hack

Client is missing tree and grass textures.

Server asks for location of client

Client gives cords which happen to be inside a tree

Server goes wtf bro, you are in a tree

Client responds with a NOPE

Server cries and goes home

You can drive, fly, shoot and see where trees would normally be. If you are to fly a heli and be the pilot and be the only one with the exploit the players will survive even when going through trees. The pilot tells the location of the players in the vehicle/heli (lol)

I highly suggest right after you read this (80% know already) but go google the exploit and find the script and add it to your server config. I added it to my servers a week ago and so far over 1000 people have been kicked and only 150 accepted.... I had no idea the ratio was so bad!

Why does this topic exist.... I kind of crapped up the top here:

I myself and a couple of friends are working on a BE replacement which will be MUCH more aggressive will have 2 different versions. One for the client (soft unregistered) and server (aggressive and will need to be ran as admin)

Basic features really... we will just be able to update it asap and maybe even integrate user panel where you can upload a confirmed hack, it will automatically analize it and add the hash to hack list.

It's still weeks from being done but unless rocket want to write an anti cheat himself this would be a great option to kill duping, alt f4 and hackers.

wow... wall of fucking text; I do suggest you read it though; useful info n shit!

Honestly, your whole arguement is invalid due to battleyes recent activity the last month(banwaves every 2 days)

I somewhat like your idea of developing your own, its cool and all. I dont know you personally, i dont know your qualifications, but anti-cheat software is not an easy task to develop, it takes months to years to develop something that is on-par with what there is out there now. Moreover, something "newly" created within a few months, is not very likely to be contracted.

A new "beta" or "Alpha" anti cheat software is more likely bound to cause issues in its testing period, then something already tested and certified(BE, PB, VAC, Gameguard) etc etc.

I hope to see your team and your software in the years to come, and actually be good and worthwhile, we could use more choices out there, but "soon" is not a very accurate statement or timeframe to relay
