Steam or non steam?

Hello guys, want to ask is there any difference between steam and non steam arma 2. I want to buy this game with mod dayz, but non steam costs 2 times less that steam version. So what is the difference between them?

From what I know, the Steam version is a little easier to get working.

Unfortunately the steam sales ended, it was really cheap!

Good luck getting to play DayZ, and have a good time.
