Are the Arma updates backwards compatible with servers? so if I upgrade to Build_95819 will I still be able to log into servers that are say 95389?

yes you can still play the old beta patches. You just have to make sure the first three numbers are the same as yours. For example. if you had 1.62.95417 and you update to 1.62.95819 you can still play the 95417 version. but if the update is to 1.63.xxxxx you then will no longer be able to play the 1.62 patches.
