Obsolescence 129 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) So I killed an admin in Cherno looting the apartments near the north-west hospital (I know he was an admin because the server restarted 30-60 seconds after I killed him), but I looted both an AS50 with 5 M107 clips and a M16 CCO SD with 6 SD mags. Now my inventory is full and I don't want to risk dying because I'm carrying two of the rarest guns in the game. My friend and I have put a tent up, but I'm worried about it eating one of my weapons.I have 3 questions: If you were in my position...1. Which gun would you risk losing first?2. Is there anyway to verify that a tent is stable and won't eat my nice shiny weapons before I put them in?3. How risky is it to just use someone elses tent that appears to be unatttended? dayzdeadman 0 Posted August 10, 2012 1 the cco sd2 not unless you know the server reset times (in which case you want to save your tent an hour at least before the reset) 3 very.

Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 10, 2012 Just because the server resarted you think you killed an Admin? I think not.In answer to your question, they are both great guns but both serve a completely different purpose. One is a sniper rifle and the other is for close combat. CCO stands for Close Combat Optic. So it depends on your play style. Also, try not to get attached to them , you'll probably die soon or lose your gear when you update with the new hotfix. Obsolescence 129 Posted August 10, 2012 How about don't get attached?Exactly this. Why not just throw all of my equipment on the ground and walk away? We all know we are going to lose our equipment at some point due to death or desync. I mean honestly, why do we bother even picking it up in the first place? amirite? hawken 22 Posted August 10, 2012 A m16 CCO SD is hacked, but i assume you mean the m4a3 cco SD.It depends on your playstyle, since im a sniper i always choose sniper rifles over AR's

I feel confident these are admin kills because I would expect it to take precisely this amount of time to log into whatever web-client controls your server and initiate a reset. Also, on a low pop server the likelyhood that any given player is an admin is increased because admins tend to play on their own servers. br00mmmm 50 Posted August 11, 2012 If a tent is empty and unattended it's glitched and will eat your weapons. You can verify the legitimacy of your personal tent by placing a low-value item in it, spamming the "save tent" option, and waiting for the next server restart. If the server restarts and the low-value item is still inside then the tent is safe.
Yoshi667 8 Posted August 11, 2012 Put some wood into your tent, save it, then see if the wood is there on a restart. If it isn't then try it again, if it is, your tent is most likely safe to use.
