zython (DayZ) 196 Posted August 10, 2012 Cutting right to the chase:Zombies should be able to spawn inside. Maybe not in large numbers, but at least one or two to keep you on your toes.Zombies should have glowing red eyes at night. Much like how Sam Fisher's goggles allow players to keep track of his head's location in pitch black conditions, players should be able to keep track of zombie positions via their eyes. On a moonless night I'll find myself walking 5 feet from a zombie that I had no idea was there. It would make nighttime much more survivable for players without NVGs.Zombies should not spawn instantly. I remember raiding a deer stand, killing the 3 zombies that spawned, only to have 3 more appear behind me as I was looting their bodies. I say they spawn in intervals, allowing a player to totally clear an area of zombies before the next spawn cycle.Zombies shouldn't aggro until they see you. If they hear you, though, they should turn and walk in your direction hoping to aggro once sight is established. All zombies within hearing range of a gunshot should begin moving in the direction it came from.Zombies should travel in herds. Walking dead anyone?Their sprinting should be shortest path, not whatever zigzag they do now.Obviously damage models need to be addressed, mostly because the horribly un-coordinated movement of your player (as a result of the Arma Engine) makes it impossible to land a glory headshot on a zombie unless you're inside, on painkillers, and had a good nights rest. So body shots are usually much more feasable and weapon damage should reflect this. After all, they're not zombies, they're "infected" so basic human dispatching should work on them too./Rocket doesn't have to listen to you/Day Z is alpha/Learn how to play, deal with it/You payed for Arma not Day Z/Fuck off and die/Game is super perfect the way it is, adapt

rollo23 57 Posted August 10, 2012 You forgot the way zombies can walk through walls this and there movement needs to be addressed first imo before adding any more features like herds (which i doubt will be possible due to the ARMA AI) or glowing eyes. No, "Fuck off and die"Come on, of all my ideas I think that night-time zombie identification is probably the best. It would add to the creep factor signifigantly too, since only their eyes would be visible.
