Throwing Flares/Chemlights

I'd like to see the throw mechanics re-worked.

I had a bad experience in the game: I was near a ledge and tried to throw a flare. i must have been moving slightly forward because as I threw the flare, my character lunged forward to throw the flare, which in turn caused me to plummit to my death. I'm not really sure it's necessary for the character to lunge foreward like in order to throw things. I'd rather the character stand still, or at least be able to walk backwards if he begins to lunge, and cancel the action.

A lot of the weird lunge animations need to be resolved in-engine. I once threw myself to my death after standing completely still and crouching on a balcony. Stuff like this randomly seems to happen.
