Server name change, is everything gone?

I can't find a solid answer with searches ive done. The server my group and I play on just went offline and then I could no longer find it in dayz commander. I did a search and found out today it's name was changed. Does this mean everything we had in tents and our vehicles are gone? I was running on foot to a pickup truck spawn that I found earlier when no one was online to drive me down to it, so I don't have a quick way to get back to our camp to even see... plus I can't even load into the server atm

Are we SOL, or will I be relieved if I take the hike back up to it?

Bump. I also suspect the same thing happened to me. I was playing in a server once called DE 72 and then suddenly the session was lost. I tried to look for it again and found one with the same name yet somehow it was different. In this server I could see myself on the map but previously it was not so. I don't think it was the same server because there were also more and different people there. I had the IP and pasted it and found a different server, again called DE 72, yet nothing was there at all. So... what is going on? I think the admin changed the name. If I find the new server will I also find my stuff?

No everything will stay the same.

The way servers work is they're given an instance ID by Rocket which is then tied in to the hive.

So no matter what they change the name to the server will be consistent.

At least this is my understanding of how instance ID's and the hive work together.
