How to tell how much FPS you're running at???

First off, which FPS is smooth and what should I shoot for? But my main question is how do I find out how much FPS i'm running at? Is there some kind of button on the keyboard that tells me numerically?

Sorry, but I dont usually use a computer for high tech stuff like gaming (DayZ is the first game I played for PC in a LONG TIME)

30+ is playable, 60+ is where the game smooths out and runs perfectly, for an FPS monitor I recommend just using Fraps with the FPS monitor turned on.
