Paladyn 8 Posted August 10, 2012 Hi guys!I`m playing Day Z since about 4-6 weeks (I know it`s not long). First I was playing without any help then after 4 weeks i`ve tried playing with looting map from DayzDB. I feel like this two are different games. First one is post apocalyptic surviving game with great alone/fear experience and many surprises along the way and second one feels more like FPS with a bit of equipment greeding (you always know where to go by items you can find there). Also second way of playing makes a lot easier to KOS (because it feels like FPS). I think that playing with DB destroyed most of this mod atmosphere.I wonder how you guys feel about this. MoronToTheKore 57 Posted August 10, 2012 I don't like using outside sources. Makes things too easy! But after you die a bunch of times and your mates really want to make that raid happen soon, sometimes you just want to grab a gun really quickly. I dunno, I've only done it once or twice. shreddedrocks 42 Posted August 10, 2012 I've never felt ashamed for using it.btw, what's KOS stand for?
Lumberjack (DayZ) 60 Posted August 10, 2012 I don,t use the guides to be fair after a while you just know where to get what you need and what areas will yield what loot you need so it's a weak point really.
semipr0 402 Posted August 10, 2012 I stopped using DayZDB after about my first few days playing.I don't really care if people use it or not, I just feel like the game is more challenging if I try to work shit out on my own.Its neither good, or bad, far as I'm concerned, its up to what you want out of your DayZ experience really and YMMV in regards to that. kayakinack 57 Posted August 10, 2012 KoS = Kill on SightFor a while I played without outside maps, but I don't get to play for a great deal of time plus I'm rather impatient, so I started using them to get things done quicker. I have to admit that first map I found when I didn't know where the hell I was really rocked my world. When the standalone comes out I plan to do my best NOT to use an outside map, that method of play has a much different feel to it.
