Gogster (DayZ) 626 Posted August 10, 2012 I think the hack that aggravates me the most is the locater hack. Why is this?Like most groups you try and accumulate supplies and get a vehicle, generally due to the size of the map. We have found that whenever we find a vehicle it is gone within a short time of logging off. I know you could attribute it going missing to a degree of bad luck, but this has happened for every vehicle we have got.I don't think we've managed to hold onto one for more than 6 hours. Given that you store your spare equipment and meds in them it's bloody annoying.A prime example would be yesterday morning. We took a pick-up truck to the top of the map and hid it in the woods and logged out. One of the lads who works near his house went home at lunchtime, logged in and the truck was gone along with the tent equipment we'd stored 4 squares away.So aside from sheer bad luck, we know for a fact there is a hack which shows you vehicles and tents on the map - if they could fix or detect people using that, it would be a boon. Thanks for listening, you may now abuse me. semipr0 402 Posted August 10, 2012 Yeah this particular hack of all the hacks pretty much ruin the entire point of DayZ.Doesn't really affect Scavenge and Slay, but Survive goes right out the window. So much for Post Apocalyptic Survival Simulation. If you can't hide from the all seeing eye, I feel that Rocket should at least change the default Arma 2 "Surrender" option to a DayZ version which allows us to pull out our own side arm and blow our characters brains out. shreddedrocks 42 Posted August 10, 2012 Strong post content to thread title ratio...Hiding anything up north is a terrible idea. Many people look up there by default for camps/vehicles. My group found two seperate camps 10 minutes away from eachother on the same server, with nearly all the vehicles except the one we had.

Let me educate you.You can't hide anything....anywhere. There are hacks available that can see every tent, vehicle and player on the server. Not exactly a case of LOL YOU PUT YOUR CAMPS IN THE WRONG PLACE NUB. M O N S T E R 599 Posted August 10, 2012 This hack/script is probably the second-most annoying. (The most being all the hacks/scripts that kill you instantly.)Things are bad, at this point.-MONSTER
deedz 6 Posted August 10, 2012 I once survived thunderdome and made an epic escape in the chopper with stacked gear

I'm aware of the script that allows one to see everyone on a server. But that's it.
mr.facedeep@gmail.com 3 Posted August 10, 2012 People who use scripts wont be bothered to teleport to your camp to steal your vehicelswhen they can spawn a vehical at their feetPeople who pay for low quality hacks which dont have BE injections rely on using Item/camp esp to find your vehicelsTry to keep your tents/vehicals at a 500M distance as people will look for clusters of tents/vehicels located togetherxxx

The saddest thing is the best place to hide a camp is on a continuously low population server to reduce the chance of scripty finding it.
semipr0 402 Posted August 10, 2012 Unfortunately right now the best way to play DayZ as intended is to play it offline entirely. This of course required me to script in AI Survivors into the scenario and it also requires me to manage vehicle spawns locally (Still working out how to randomly assign spawns for them on a local copy), but otherwise, its the only way to enjoy the game.Unfortunately I also have to enjoy it alone, in this situation, which sort of sucks goat balls in general. But at least I can guarantee I'm playing it as intended. Gogster (DayZ) 626 Posted August 10, 2012 Back into the game after work - they've had 11 hours and they've found both our vehicles (motorbike and truck) across a 225km map...OFC a helicopter might make it easier.
red_orchestra@msn.com 112 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) I lost all my vehicles and tents but I never really suspected hackers. Figured since they spawn weapons and vehicles by themselves there wouldn't be much purpose. Edited August 10, 2012 by That Cat
