Notoriety system idea [NO PUNISHMENTS]

Every main problem up to this point seems to be the fact that there are too much bandits that kill everyone they see. So this is a solution that does not penalize the bandit, but gives a consequence for they're actions.

Basically what this notoriety system does is it checks the current server for the lowest humanity player (if the bandit system is scratched maybe keep it just an internal count no visible) and ever 30 minutes or so a broadcast plays and it tells the other survivors where the Bandit's location is (the city name or something in that line). Now this makes the Bandit have to be constantly on the move when they want to kill people, but also makes them famous (maybe there can be a ranking or something) so it does not really penalize the Bandits. Now on the other hand the Survivors now have a choice to walk away from a Bandit or engage him forming groups, which makes the PvP aspect a lot more interesting.

Obviously the Bandit can use this system to his advantage by moving his position right after the broadcast plays, so he can ambush unsuspecting players, which also makes this very interesting.

Now, about the Broadcast. I personally don't think it should be a totally global announcement. Inside major cities the broadcast should be played throughout the city, but if you are outside of the major cities, the only way you could check the broadcast is by a radio or some sort of equipment (I know there is already a radio implemented in the game).

I personally think this is the best way to not penalize but tone done the killing sprees by Bandits, and it would make the PvP a lot more interesting because now the survivors have a better chance to engage Bandits strategically.

I really like this idea. A more direct version of my Wanted Posters suggestion. Would reflect the idea that word would spread about notorious murderers and eventually, people would gang up and go hunt them.

if players want this information spread they have to do it themselves

DayZ shouldn't even have global chat, let alone alerts telling carebears how to run away from the big bad wolf

I'm a bandit, and i'm bored to see how many thread people who want to give handycap to bandit, but…

This thread is the first i've read about a genuine intention to balance things, without give disvantage to a category.

Only i don't like the method:

When i do my "bad actions" :angel: i do not like that all server know whre i am, and come to hunt me down like a bunny!!!!

The problem are not Bandits

The problem is a category of Arcade players who play in Dayz, because it is easy to kill every one.

well the thing is that its not punishing you, its giving you more people to kill in someways. You can always move away if you think your in danger too. And as I said you can use the announcement to your advantage, which is why its different than the other methods that only give a disadvantage to the bandits, meaning its not punishing you.

For example, lets say you were in Cherno and the broadcast is made and it states that your in Cherno. Now as a smart bandit what you would do is move out of Cherno and head out to the outskirts to the east on top of the mountain, where you can still get vision the road. Now lets say the survivor group comes from the east (headed from Elektro). You can easily snipe one or two down because they didn't expect an attack far away from Cherno. Just a simple example of how this system can give the smart Bandits an advantage, while just mindless Bandits will easily get killed by the survivors, making mindgames much more interesting.

Also Devs stated that when arma patch comes the global chat will get removed, so people would not know the notority without radios by global chat. So hopefully that won't be a problem.

The main reason I started a new thread for this even though there were several similar threads, is that all the other threads only were sharing ideas to just punish bandits, which is exactly what Rocket does not want. This however does not punish them, and maybe even rewarding (by allowing you more kills if your smart, and perhaps a leaderboard for killing streaks). So basically it rewards you for how good you are at the game.

Also, now that the bandit skin is presumably gone, what can make the game interesting is to make it so that only the top rank killer can get the bandit skin. That way the "Bandit" skin will become a reward other high notoriety characters go after, making the game not just a noob killing game but also a high skilled combat between people going after the "Bandit" skin.
