First firefight

Recommended Posts

Today I had my first real firefight and holy shit was that intense. I was carelessly crouch running around in the forest outside the airfield walls and suddenly I hear a crack followed by a couple more cracks as well as some AR shots as I scrambled to get out of the open. I dived to the ground and hid behind a tree trunk. The next minute or two was the most tense moment I've felt in this game. They ceased shooting (probably cause they no longer could see me) and I wasn't exactly sure where they were only the general direction that I could guess. I sat there contemplating aborting to save myself but then I steeled myself and decided to try to take out my attackers. So I waited and of course it wasn't long until they started to move up to look for me. I could see one and he apparently saw me cause a few more bullets whizzed by and hit the dirt nearby. I tried staying behind the tree so he wouldn't get a clear shot. I then popped up to a crouch and leaned out with my L85A2 AWS and it was easy to put a few in him with the thermal sight lighting him up. He went down and I glanced to my debug monitor and saw the Bandit Kills was now at 1. I knew there was at least one more since I heard both sniper and AR fire at the same time so I waited a couple seconds and sure enough he came towards his friends body, possibly in a hopeless attempt to revive his friend. This gave me another clear shot and I took him down quickly.

My heart was racing after the battle and I waited a short time in case there were any others but I didn't see or hear anything so I moved in for the spoils of war. They didn't have much that I needed, although their cooked meat was appreciated to replenish the blood I lost during the fight.
