Adrenaline Gaming: Dallas 1/US264

The following is Adrenaline Gaming's server charter for US264/Dallas 1, copied from our information board.

As outlined in the Administration Rights, Responsibilities and Structure post, there is to be for each gameserver a charter that instructs the administration team on basic guidelines for the establishment of a gameserver, and the Head Admins' expectations for how it should progress. This charter will also allow the community to transparently see the purpose behind the server, and help to point out where we are deviating from our original intent.

Our mission at Dallas 1 is to provide a community-oriented DayZ server, with a persistent community effect on the server. Rather than the random encounters of strangers, though these should be present of course, factions should be encouraged to develop and know of one another, creating rivalries and a politic. Interesting and unusual features should be implemented wherever possible to make Dallas 1 stand out from the rest of the servers of DayZ. Being one of the oldest and most reputable servers in DayZ, we should do our best to care for the community at large by being lenient, fair, and taking action with justice in mind.

Administrators should periodically promote both the server, and the ideas outlined above to its players, in addition to encouraging players on the server to get involved with the community at large.

Dallas 1 should be a community-managed server, and the administration should take into account the wishes of the community, and the greater good when making changes to the server.

Adrenaline Gaming is a community made up of various clans and in-house squads; we provide teamspeak, forum, webhosting and servers to our members, member clans and the public at large. We are a mature, but non-exclusive community; elitism is frowned upon. Our member clans completely retain their sovereignty and most have intricate inner workings; community administrators take a hands-off approach and merely stand back and settle disputes when they arise.

In order to change the way things in the community are run, our regular members (individuals who have taken the time to apply on the forums for community membership and read over the guidelines in-depth) can suggest changes, post public polls, and use their combined voice to influence the decisions of the administration. They can also create in-house squads, smaller versions of the clans we accommodate, in order to create a proper sense of identity for smaller groups of people and allow them a chance to compete.

One of the most interesting dynamics on Dallas 1 is the diversity of our playerbase. The fact that most of our server's players utilize the same Teamspeak, even non-community members, leads to things such as sometimes-spontaneous gang wars, more advanced trading, and an actual community culture. The world feels smaller, there's more interaction, and less shoot-on-sight type of gameplay.

We are one of the toughest servers on both hackers, and our own administrators. Admin abuse is not tolerated, and accusations of it will always be either dealt with or defeated with hard evidence. I am a firm believer in truth, but also in fairness; there is no double standard in my book.

Should you wish to have some fun in an environment that's unique and welcoming to new players, you can join us on teamspeak at ts.adrenaline-gaming.net, or check out our website at http://www.adrenaline-gaming.net/

And you just let the hackers win by showing you feared them. Personally, I go into a game expecting it, and hope that in the end, they'll eventually move on and I'll be able to finally enjoy a game. =D

I played with AG for a little bit. Some of the guys there are pretty cool but there are a few bad eggs. Hunter is a dick and will kick/ban you from the server if you piss him off or call him out on his immaturity so just watch what you say to his face and you'll be fine.

Hunter has been permanently banned from our community after pitching a fit and deleting the server files.

Trust me. I got disowned first hand for calling him out.

Glad he's banned.

We will be undergoing a major server overhaul and upgrade to a new, higher-performing box over the next three days.

With this overhaul, we have decided to request a new instance ID such that the server will be "fresh" (all vehicles, tents, wires, sandbags, etc. will be removed/reset to original positions)

Stay tuned for more announcements!

Immediately after our overhaul, we experienced a DDOS attack that blocked our services for several days. We identified the attacker with the help of our hosting company, and submitted a report that will be forwarded to the FBI field office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, including the identity of the attacker and details of the attack. The attacker was a former disgruntled community administrator at AG, but out of respect to the DayZ community he has joined and with regard to their reputation, we will not disclose his identity.

We have since taken a more aggressive stance with our defenses against DDOS, and after working with our hosting company to implement those changes, we feel confident our services will continue unabated.

In the near future, upon receiving a reply from the DayZ devs, we will obtain a new instance ID which will reset our server to the aforementioned "fresh" state. Stay tuned for further announcements to that regard!
