I never said you will get banned for it. I just said overlays are illegal per the BE ToS.

And, hackers can run scripts on your GUID. Since they have bypass and you don't you can get banned.

There goes the whole... you won't get banned by just being on a server with hackers.

I have connected many times to servers with bug reports that say I am trying to spawn in a gun (assumption). Basically the bug says something to the effect "gun does not exist in directory."

I wonder how many more times that happens before I get a ban. =/

This whole thing is disgusting. I have never seen such a mismanagement of funds. Like I said before, at least I can rest at night knowing that the majority of money went to Valve not BI. Most sales were through STEAM, and BI sold the digi rights a long time ago. You know, when the game was dying, a month after release, and they were scrounging for cash.

Yes scripts can make you run scripts.

Our entire server had our backpacks replaced with coyotoes and mil flash lights.

In the logs I see me running the spawn item script as did everyone else on the server.

Likewise with getting killed, entire server slain, spawn and destroy vehicle script run by every player on server except one....hmmmmm..

Being Teleported however doesn't appear to work this way..

Don't see why they can't make a trolol script to global ban people at will.

That's before you get into guid spoofing.

I know of 3 players that regularly played on our server got global bans. These are players that I've had to help walk them through installing the latest BETA patch, not really the type capable of finding and using scripts to cheat on a server.

During a server nuke - it said one of my RL friends Jubag (with the same GUID) had executed a fair amount of malicious scripts.

Funny thing is - he stopped playing a while back.

Spoofing is probably getting people wrongfully banned too.

like that even matters, you think BE comes to the dayz forum? and complaining about hackers is allowed, and BE does suck and still does and i know they are upping security and props for that, but when they go send out a server message about it, thats where it pisses me off, hey look we got the power to ban anyone for any reasons and not warn about shit, yeah, thats a GREAT company mentality. and they also have no explanation for their kicks and ban codes, which is lame because a company should always have that.

how did you see the GUID? and how do you know your friend's GUID?

and you're claiming that with all the hackers out there, you just happened to run into one spoofing the GUID of someone you know?

So if GUID spoofing is an issue that can't be fixed, why is the game even being allowed to run so that hackers can take peoples hard earned money by getting their ability to play their game taken away by sociopaths.

When: August 2, 2012; sometime between 4:42-46am PST.

Account of my situation when ban occurred...

... 4:45am PST. After looting Krasnostav, went back to camp north of lake to secure goods. While putting loot in tents I heard a motor cycle approach. The two people got off their bike and proceeded to check my teams camp while I laid under a near by tree waiting for the right time to shoot. I got both of them in my sights and opened fire. I strike one down, but the other runs over a raised grade in the ground and looks as if he lays down. I flank right, to get a position to see around the small hill the person has gone behind. When I get my veiw the person is gone. So I run to the position and then move to his right, but he can not be found. I looked for ten minutes and assumed the player disconnected. So I go back to his friends body to read the name and cause of death, but the body is gone. I go over to the motorcycle they road in on and disable it by shooting the front tire so no-one could take off with it easily after I log out. I fired a few more shots in the direction of the player who DC'ed just to scare him if he is back and lurking. After five more minutes of waiting I go back to securing my loot. It's the last thing I have to do before I log out so the team has food and extra ammunitions when they come in next play session. While I'm moving the loot from my truck to the tents I'm hit with a "Global Ban ae92".

It has been 6 days since my last email. Please reply ASAP.
