PVP

Recommended Posts

everyone gets mad about being killed in cities by snipers or being setup by a trade or just getting shot when saying friendly but i feel like that 70% of the game is pvp so if there was no pvp i would stop playing after a week so i don't understand why people get so mad.

My outlook:

PvP is a fully-functional part of the game in which is more realistic than what other folks believe.

Put yourself in the following situations:

* You need something desperately, be it shelter, transportation or medical assistance. You ask someone, they decline and go about their business.

Fast forward three months after the same thing happening over and over.

*Again, you or maybe a loved one needs something like shelter, medical attention, food, water. They decline. Family member gets sick(er) and still needs attention. You're tired of being denied such simple necessities so you beat the person and take what you need. Perhaps the person finds you and returns the favor.

Fast forward again

*Same situation, only this time you kill the person and take what you need without any other conflict. You survive a healthy sinful life. But at least you're safe.

Maybe the above situations aren't as realistic as they're portrayed but the idea is still there.

Step one, get all the best gear. Step two get killed by a hatchet/sniper/gun/some type of weapon. Step three respawn. This repeats. People get too attached to gear and they rage, but the bullshit is. You respawn and within like 5-10 minutes get killed by someone. It sucks to have to play loading simulator 2012, 30 times in an hour.

Then learn to play the game.

My characters normally last about a week (7 days) before I'm killed by a hacker.

If you're constantly dying by other players, perhaps you should change your playstyle and get out of the coastal cities.

You have to look out for your own ass, never rely on what others in game say. Unless you are playing with your BFF'S!

It's been 24 days and I'm still alive. I never said this is what happened to me.

Edit: I have only been killed once by a hacker, because I play on my friend's hackers get spotted quickly and banned. We have only had one on the server.

My little brother actually tried to kill me, and then he was like, "Sorry, didnt know it was you", glad he sucked the hatchet play.

Might be true, might not, I'll just be careful around him.

But, play the way you want, you dont have to play deathmatcher, but be ready for people that do.

Thats why YOU play the way YOU want, if its to help others, just to mind your own bussiness or to hunt fellow man for sport.

Dont let others to decide your play style. Sure you might die few times, but for me, the challenge is worth it.

If shit hits the fan, theres always those people, who will do anything to survive, and those, who would help those in need.

A lot of players make the same mistake.

They spawn in Balota, Cherno, Elektro or even Komarovo and want to check out the airfield in Balota, go to the store in Cherno or Elektro, go to the fire station with what ??? A bandage, flashlight a soda perhaps :D

I know because i was like that when i started playing. Now I usually die to hackers. <_<

Some people just go out and look for pvp, that's totally up to them. I would rather survive longer and avoid as much player contact as I can.

There are many variations to PvP.

Two scavengers unexpectedly meeting while desperately trying to find food and one hatchets the other over a can of beans is understandable.

Two veterans meeting in forest who are wary of bandits and human contact, so one decides 'It's not going to be me'.

A clan situated at camp see three heavily armed bandits encroaching upon there territory, its going to do down and kick off.

Someone who just sits for hours on end 'pwning' new players coming from the coast into Cherno, is just being an asshole. Hopefully they will follow the heard and move onto a new game soon.

Honestly I would prefer to die by a bandit then shoot him myself, I have died hundreds of times because I wanted to make friends with some people, I have about 20 guys I know that play dayz and the reward from having trusty friends is worth more then some gear that you will eventually lose.
