Because anyone with the L85 can see you from 1km away. You'll never "see them". You'll just get hit by the AS50 he has in his backpack.

Spawn rate's low, but as mentioned very few things spawn at chopper crash sites so it turns up often enough. If you're a super serious clan with a vehicle it's easy as fuck to drive around from crash site to crash site and get the best shit in the game. Not so much if you don't have a vehicle. Add to that people mass duping and hackers spawning shit in? You've got complete sets of the best shit in the game being dropped every 10 minutes around cherno / elektro. Very rarely do I see "snipers" armed with anything but .50's because they're so common. I've seen multiple L85's too. Even if it was kept "super rare" and there was no duping, it would in no time be all over the place because if someone got killed that is one of the items that would be kept from the looted body. That will build up over time... Compound that with people obviously actively searching or "farming" to gain the item and you've got a steady growth of L85 numbers with little reduction.

Everyone saying the L85 is inaccurate are high off their face too. It's an assault rifle and it's the most accurate one, better than the M4 / m16. It even has forward grip for reduced recoil. Its range / damage is obviously limited by the fact that it's firing 5.56 rounds and not proper rifle rounds, so despite zeroing to 800 and having a scope -- It's an assault rifle. Without crosshairs on the server it's horrendous to use up close / medium ranges because the scope is so zoomed in. The FOV is so low it's next to impossible to spot anything closer than 300m without spinning round like a spaz.

It's basically the worlds best support weapon though, and any sniper would be happy to have a spotter with it or have it in their backpack. You can spot people out to the draw distance, through fog. Even so much as a foot poking out of a bush 1km away is easy as hell to see -- It's bordering on cheating, you've got predator vision and it's complete easy mode. Not only does it have thermal and night vision, it also has a laser which shows up at night for only night vision to show all your friends where the peons are hiding.

In short, it's trolling hard and it's all over dayz "rare spawn" or not.

I didn't create the dupers, DayZ created the dupers.

You don't have to search Google to dupe in DayZ, all you have to do is play the game, you'll dupe things left and right inadvertently.

There are enough people duping in the game that it doesn't really matter how many new people dupe. The items are already on the servers, the intended rarity of items, the intended scarcity of ammo? It is already ruined. The only fix for it is to remove the underlying bugs and wait for the ingame item-sinks to eventually catch up.

By trying to use security through obscurity you're not accomplish anything.
