Battleye Banned (Marker Making)

Recommended Posts

I haven't played Dayz in long time so i decided today after reformatting my pc that i would get back into it, i downloaded all the dayz patches, installed DayzCommander and also updated Arma2 to its latest version. Now all of a sudden whenever i try joining a server its telling me im banned for marker making :/ anyone know what this could be or whether it can be removed as I have never cheated on this game or scripted.

Any feed back on whether this is just a bug going on in the game at the moment or whether i have actually been banned?

Many thanks.

edit: some servers i can join, however the majority of them i can't :/

Try a different server. I think that is just a server ban. Admin may have made a mistake or something.

If you can join a server with BE enabled you are not globally banned.

Maybe these servers are using the Dayz Ban List.

There is only one entry on UK4 for "Setting Markers"

d53007dbeb48d6f595b8d5c4259e64c6 -1 Setting markers

If this is your GUID, then it is part of the Dayz server admins ban list by default.

This list was maintained by Tonic, or Rocket himself, from the early days. This banlist is from 1.2 era for me...

You can find your GUID when you join a server that does not kick you "Battleye verified GUID (d53007dbeb48d6f595b8d5c4259e64c6)

It's just an admin that got a bit crazy with rcon. Report the server you got banned from if you can; I'm on that ban list myself.

right i've just seen that this is my GUID, could anyone tell me what that ban means I have done as I am 100% sure I have never scripted, hacked or glitched anything on this game :(

I'd like to direct this thread's attention to this other thread: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/26262-kick-on-connecting-on-most-but-not-all-servers/

It does not seem to be a global ban, so I will leave the thread here.

I do not have any power to act on this matter, however. You will need to contact Battleye, an admin/dev, or have patience.

I've read that and that does make sense to a certain extent, I remember when I first played dayz around May/June - Not knowing much about the game I may have actually placed markers on the in-game map, however when doing this I did not at one point spawn myself anything, was purely just a noobish thing that I must have done. However with this in mind - I stopped playing the game around January time, this year - no ban at all yet baring in mind, then recently I just reformatted my PC and got myself back into Dayz about 1 or 2 weeks ago, It started out fine, to my awareness, however now I am just getting that ban message constantly. Hope that helps with any evidence :/

You can get banned for placing markers on the in-game map?

I don't think that's why you were banned, OP. I've done it a few times on accident when I started playing and I never got banned.
