So had a great hangover day playing DayZ. Making my way north when i went to debug forest. Ended being able to walk out some where west of NWAF. Messed around there for a bit, ended up finding my best gun to date. Which was a Camo M4a3, which was great until i dropped my alice pack some how. And so ended up dropping that and getting a M14 with a red dot. Oh by the way the M14 is loud as shit too. Oh and i ended up finding the big coyote pack too. And then found a M16 with launcher too.

Started having some issues with zombies and me not watching out for myself. So i started to get low on blood. Also at some point my guy got sick. Which by the amount of coughing hes doing hes pretty sick i guess. Got a question though. I notice the body temperature is gone and i don't think it was raining on my server i was playing on. But if you don't have a temperature to watch how to you know to keep your self dry and warm or inside. So to me that doesn't make sense if you don't have a body temp why get sick. So now I'm on the hunt for antibiotics now. Which leads me to my next part of the story.

So it took me a while to find a cow to shoot and eat to get my blood back up. Blurry vision plus fading light made it hard to find food. Also had a cow vanish on me too, no big deal. Its all part of the life. So i found another cow after running around for a while. I had to log out to do something. So I logged into another server and ended up in debug plains cuz nothing but grass could be see forever. Also it said i died but i could see me standing there though. So I logged and found another server which when i spawned i could hear the coast. That didn't make sense but its works cuz i need to find a hospital anyways. So i headed west towards elektro to find the hospital and hope to find some antibiotics.

So in the end yeah this game has bugs and other stuff that is just part of the game right now. But if you get just lucky enough the bugs work for you. Two teleports in one day, got sick, over 100 zombie kills, zero murders, lost stuff, found better stuff, been alive for over two day i think. This game is just great that all i have to say, cant wait to see the stand alone version also. So if this is in the wrong spot sorry, i still feel like a newbie when it comes to a lot of stuff. So i think that's about it.

To answer your question, you can get sick from more than just cold, you can get it from zombies, or other players that are sick. You most likely got it from a Zed if it wasnt raining.

If you are infected (coughing) the only cure is anti-biotics, if you dont care about stats its much easier/faster to put up a tent, store your gear and go suicide then get back to your gear ;)

I've seen some people say you can cure an infection with heat from a fire, but I think they were confusing it with a cold, according to the wiki.

Infection

Symptoms Character will cough and splutter, losing 3 blood every second. An infected player loses blood continuously with the rate of blood-loss slowing down once they reach 6,000 blood. Causes Causes of Infection:

• Random chance when Temperature drops below 36.
  
• Spending time near players who are already sick.
  
• Very small chance of getting it from zombie bite.
  

Treatment Treatment for Infection:

• Using Antibiotics will cure the infection, however they spawn rarely.

Cold

Symptoms Character will shake from coldness, but not as shaky as Pain. Causes Causes of Cold:

• Temperature below 33
  

Treatment Treatments for a Cold:

• A Fireplace made using a Box of Matches and a Wood Pile.
  
• Running/sprinting will prevent your temperature from dropping further. It will also warm you up quicker than walking, as long as you are not in rain/water.
  
• Consuming a Heat Pack.
  
• Shelter must be found inside Buildings or Vehicles.
  

Either one will work - you do not have to do all to relieve your cold.

Not quit the teleporting I expected to read about based on the thread title, but still good to hear you made the most of it. Sounds like your infection might be from zombie attack as opposed to low temperature. Either way good luck finding antibiotics.
