Gh0st93 5 Posted August 8, 2012 Hello, all the time since yesterday i have had this problem with ArmA it laggs so horribly when i start it up so i dont bother playing it, (if i have recently restarted my computer it is at 70fps however) but it takes like 10 minutes or something and it lags again, I tought i would try other games, because it might just be Arma. and thenI try Fallout new vegas, same thing happens. after 30 minute or so the game laggs like HELL, moving on.Left 4 dead 2, same shit.EVEN MAGICKA laggs. and then something isnt right.(yes I have tried to restart the games, but its just the same lagg aswell) so i actually have to restart my computer to make them run smoothmy GPU is at 38c idle and 48c while playing. and the CPU is lower. so its not overheatingany toughts? or maybe help?A note tho: I recently downloaded my newest driver to my Video card. but that should increase the performance and not bring it down. if i'm not misstaken? :SThanks

ironman Tetsuo 181 Posted August 8, 2012 always make a back-up before you upgrade any drivers, you never know when you'll need them. But yes, try downgrading your drivers and see if that helps.

DEOVONTAY MCSLANGA 149 Posted August 8, 2012 Some games do legitimately have problems with memory leaks regarding RAM. For example, playing Tera Online I start with 60 frames, and slowly dwindle down to 20 at which point I have to close and relaunch the game and it's fixed. I sometimes have the same problem with DayZ, after playing for a few hours at a time frames start to drop for no identifiable reason, and it's fixed after relaunching. This could also be caused by just having shitty old ram, so you could consider buying some new sticks. It's also worth noting that there are quite a few servers that just inherently have shitbad frames for me. When looking for a new server with friends we'll often go through several servers before finding one that's playable. Not sure what causes this, I would assume something along the lines of excessive tent duping or something a hacker did. Do you always play on the same server/is the problem always just as bad on every server you play?
Blindingsun 233 Posted August 8, 2012 Try running Memcheck. if that runs clean for more than 3 hours..try cleaning your pc.. heat can cause problems.
KilgoreTrout (DayZ) 0 Posted August 8, 2012 A note tho: I recently downloaded my newest driver to my Video card. but that should increase the performance and not bring it down. if i'm not misstaken? :SThanksRoll it back, duder. And if you want to be on the safe side, follow these (ridiculously long) instructions:
KilgoreTrout (DayZ) 0 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Try running Memcheck. if that runs clean for more than 3 hours..try cleaning your pc.. heat can cause problems. You should definitely clean your pc! But your idle GPU temps are fine (your CPU is as well), so I doubt that's the problem.Any problems detected by Memtest are more likely to cause BSOD-109 errors. Unless one of your dimms came loose and you're now playing with half the RAM you were a few days ago (that's actually happened to me before). The drivers are your best bet- though it would be pretty funny if you had just set your PC to "power saver' mode or something.
