Camo clothes garbage?

Recommended Posts

So I found some camo clothes on a crashed heli the other day. For those who don't know camo clothes are just basically military clothes. Green so they are kind of camoflaged. I've heard that they give you slight body armor against small arms fire. But really, compared to a ghillie suit this thing is terrible.

So what I was thinking, and I want some other peoples opinions. Do you think the camo clothes should have slots for your main weapon magezines? Or possible second weapon slot, primary or secondary?

Don't put them on then? Neither offers you any additional protection other than a new skin.

Yes, ghillie is harder to see. However, the camo clothing is substantially better in comparison to the beginner skin.

They do not need any more enhancements. They are what they are. Clothes.

Change camo cloth with assault pack, and ghillie with coyote backpack. Then you realise something.

they are intermediates between civillian (glowing target of pk) and bushwookie

compared to the wookie costume if soldier is terrible civillian must be end of the word bad,

think of it in mmo terms, your bitching that you got a blue instead of a gold (still a metric fk ton better then the white/grey your currently derping around in), accept what ya got and use the blue while ya farm up that gold, instead of trying to make the blue as good as the gold

You have body armour depending on the server you join...it is a serverside setting.

Can you explain this a bit more?

This is news to me.

Afaik difficulty setting has no affect on how easy it is to kill some one.

is it a DayZ server parameter?

It is a Arma parameter...admins can turn it off or on.

Only expert server have it turned off by default.. But regular/veteran can turn it off, if they want.

It's better than Survivor clothing and it's the only clothing I seem to find. I'd still take it over Survivor any day.

The first option in this list is it? http://wiki.zspecial...iculty_Settings

I doubt many DayZ servers have that on. I tend to avoid "Recruit" servers, never too many in the server list either. It looks like it's only available if you choose recruit setting too, I dont think it is on for Regular or Expert. I feel it's an extra setting for new players who are learning the game/ having probs with the campaign.

Still thinking it should have some kind of off set difference in potential than the ghillie suit. The armor makes sense, but this would kind of get into a "should there be classes" discussion.

For example you'd be more of a front line, heavy weapon player for assaulting cities or enemy camps. When in a ghillie suit you'd be a recon guy. Obviously a ghillie suit being better for a lone survivor, but possible the camo gear being better for a group of hardened badasses. An "army" so to speak.

Camo clothes are still quite useful. It's better than a blue/black/white color scheme against the environment.

I never found any clothing at all. I would be happy to get this soldier / camo clothing. I already gave up hope to get a ghillie.

Of course the camo doesn't stack up against the Ghillie, but it sure beats wearing bright blue in a map that's 99% made of green.....

Found my ghillie at devil's castle and one in Vybor office's once. Look around there I guess.

YES I KNOW CAMO CLOTHES ARE BETTER THAN REGULAR SURVIVOR CLOTHES. No need to reiderate that a billion times. What I want is a constructive discussion on how the camo suit can be improved or stand apart from the ghillie suits. Example I mean, reasons why I just wouldn't ALWAYS pick the ghillie suit over the camo clothes.

And plus thinking about how they are almost just as rare (considering I found them on a heli crash site) why should they suck so much in comparison?

You mean aside from the fact if you ever have to go into a town the ghillie suit is essentially painting a big giant target on yourself?

You have body armour depending on the server you join...it is a serverside setting.

If you use DayZ commander you can see which servers have it "turned on". It's also been pretty conclusively tested to do virtually nothing on DayZ, similar to how you can turn on tracers but bullets still won't fire with tracers.

I want a constructive discussion about myself being king or emperor of the world.

Shet sorreh, sarcasm is bad.

Dude, poeples've been giving ya their point, isn't it a constructive discussion ? Or is it only if someone goes your way ?

Ah see now you've pointed something out that I for some reason didn't realize. Although being in a camo suit still wouldn't be much better in town. Good point, good point

I don't think you understand the concept of tiering. See, basically things are categorized into "Good" "Better" and "Best". Or sometimes "Shit" "Not Shit" "Best!"

For example, with sniper rifles:

CZ550 - "Good"

DMR - "Better"

AS50 - "Best"

The purpose is that some things are better than others. Because the CZ550 has a shitty scope crosshairs and does roughly the same damage as the DMR at a lower rate of fire, it's not as good. The DMR doesn't have a zero, and isn't as powerful as the AS50, so it isn't as good.

In your little world, all items should serve a special and unique purpose. While this makes sense in a normal shooter for balancing issues (like in CoD, in a perfect world all the guns would be equally good and have a purpose) it makes absolutely no sense in an MMO setting, which this game is at it's very core. I kind of get the feeling that you're just sad that you found camo clothing ("Better" tier) instead of a ghillie ("Best" tier) and you're making some sad attempt to get it changed so that you don't have to be sad that you didn't get the absolute best gear.

For example, to turn your logic on it's head. If all items should serve a unique and fabulous purpose, lets compare handguns. We can all agree that the Makarov isn't as good as the G17. So we should buff the Makarov, right? Because I don't want to live in a world where I would ALWAYS pick the G17 over the Makarov. This clearly has nothing to do with the fact that I found a Makarov and not a G17, I just think the Makarov should be better so that all the guns can feel like the prettiest girls at the ball.
