Fixing weapon damage values

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this has been brought up somewhere, but figured I'd ask it anyway just in case.

As I'm sure many people noticed, Arma 2 updated relatively recently and, for some weird reason, decided to severely nerf most of the guns used in the DayZ mod. Halving the damage of many weapons and even cutting it down to almost 1/4 of what the original damage was in some cases (like my beloved M1911).

Now it takes roughly 14 shots from most sidearms to kill another human player, and almost an entire clip just to kill a zombie. Since this IS a mod, would it be possible to return the damage values to what they used to be in a future update?

I know the standalone is coming along but I'm tired of having my sidearm be next to useless in the current version so thought I'd throw this suggestion out there. I'd imagine that many people would agree that the realism is shattered when you empty two clips into a person only for them to shoot you twice and kill you, no matter what kinds of guns are being used.
