M4A1 Holo SD

So, I found a small tent city out in the outskirts and one of them was pretty loaded. AS50, NVGs, Rangefinder, Ghillie suit and a M4A1 Holo SD. No GPS, Entrenching Tool, or any vehicles so I can't say for sure if it was a hacker. I've never seen a M4A1 Holo SD (also has a M203 launcher) and they don't seem to have a page on either dayzdb.com or dayzwiki.com. If these are both unofficial sources, how am I supposed to know if this gun is legit? Can I keep it either way?

You have said it yourself...aint on wiki or dayzdb.com so it is pretty much hacked. You would do good to destroy this tent city of duped evil.

Damnit.. one of our mates recently found a M4 Holo SD + M203 on a killed enemy as well... Said player was only carrying med equip thus we didn't suspect him to be a hacker. Probably means he found the weapon elsewhere, as well.

Well, now will have to persuade him into dropping the gun ^^'

I found a camp full of those beautiful, beautiful guns. Holo SD's up the ass. I wanted to use it so badly, but alas, I know it's a hacker weapon and cannot bring myself to do it. I hope a Holo SD is added to standalone, I love the holo enough already, making it silenced is just...so perfect. I can understand why it wouldn't be added though.

But yeah. Hacked weapon. Too bad. But hey, you can't get banned for using it, so that's up to you. Long as you aren't spawning things in you're okay. I'd advise against it personally though, admins might check logs and ban ya and whatnot, not to say anything of the fact that you're using a hacked weapon which itself is just pretty freakin' lame.

There is currently an m4a1 cco sd. Its a great weapon for guarding your squads sniper while not giving away his position.

Your allowed to keep hacked weapons, just dont create them

Oh I'm well aware of the M4A1 CCO SD. I just don't like it. Sight it nice, sure, and silenced is always a plus, but I don't like the drop in range or damage. It's just not worth it to me. However, attaching a nice little M203 to make up for that lack of range and damage...well, I'm more willing to accept that.

Honestly, if the Holo SD was a legit weapon, I would probably still carry an unsilenced one around with me as well, for those longer range engagements, assuming I have someone else with a sniper to deal with all that business.

I remember seeing it in the wiki not too long ago, and this was why. I guess I'll have to drop it off somewhere in the wilderness then. Finding SD mags was pretty tough anyways.
