Rick Grimer 29 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Simple idea. Take out the kill messages so if youre havin a standoff/fight with someone and you hit him from a distance, you cant be sure whether he is dead or not. Then you would have to approach him and see if hes dead. But you could also trick people and pretend your dead (dont shoot for a while). This would make fights, especially over long distances behind cover, much more intense. Edited August 7, 2012 by Rick Grimer

Ramp (DayZ) 4 Posted August 7, 2012 that would be epic, but only without combat DC.
norreka 45 Posted August 7, 2012 As long as there is Alt F4 i need those messages ...love it to on servers without by going them looting or looking if hes dead and my mate have to shot a spawning ghoster behind me :/
Afgoo 114 Posted August 7, 2012 Doesn't the debug screen tell you if you got the kill anyway?
TyRobot 100 Posted August 7, 2012 Plenty of servers have "Death Messages" turned off, so you just need to pay attention to which servers you play on...
Dalegor Dobrutro 22 Posted August 7, 2012 In my opinion this dont change nothing. People just if they see that someone lay on ground, just shoot him one more time just in case.
Tiercel 63 Posted August 7, 2012 Or you could just keep an eye on your muder/bandit kill counter?
Rick Grimer 29 Posted August 8, 2012 Disable that too.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted August 8, 2012 Yeah, disable murder stat and 'X was killed' text. Would make gunfights more immersive IMO.
