Is there a way to find a bandit camp/bandits in a serveR?

I'm currently in a game where there's a bandit clan of 8 people online, but I have no idea where they might be hiding out. Im trying to find out where their hideout is, so I can stir some havoc. Any idea where I might look?

Generally, you will find camps by working your way accross the western and northern edges of the map

You could always try to follow one of them, or alternatively place several scouts on the map.

I already checked NWAF and Stary Sobor, omw to Cherno right now. I havent heard any gunshots or seen any people.

It's called shoeleather....

Just walk the W & N of the map.

Think about where you would place a camp:

a ) Should be far enough from anything of interest so random scavengers don't find it.

b ) Should be easy to locate if you know where to look: Using non-loot spawn landmarks for example

c ) Should be difficult to see from a distance: in valleys, in dense bunches of trees or bushes. (many of these bunches are at the edge of forests)

Try Black and Willow lakes, There is always camps there.

I have always found one around the NWAF, seems to be a collecting point then they drive the goods away!

North of Olsha also.

Each server is different however, what works in one may not in the other.

Also, I'm no expert, but I believe tents need to be pitched on relatively flat ground. Can cars be parked on hillsides? Is there an e-brake function or can they slide down?

With the new patch it is possible to pitch a tent almost anywhere. And it wasn't a matter of flatness earlier, pitching was just bugged.

Northwest corner area which is beyond the DayZDB and DayzWiki map borders but can be seen in the game map is always a good spot to find camps.

I'v been switching beetween servers around NW airfield, mostly on the west side, and so faar i manage to find 3 camps in a week.

Full of gear

And am currently heading towards Skalka, maybe i find some camp there.

But after my personal experince i find them around NW of the map.
