Attican 1 Posted August 7, 2012 Lately in Dayz I have been having some odd freezing issues. By this I mean I will be going about my business and suddenly all my movement keys will stop responding. I had a character all fitted out near Stary. I agro'd a zombie and was running away, about to lose him in some bushes (the line of sight system for losing zombies is amazing). However, all of a sudden my movment keys stopped responding, I could move my mouse but I couldn't move or when I could I could only walk at a crouch. I am an experienced Arma player, and this hasn't happened to me before. Well, the zombie got me and I died. I started a new character later on that day and, lucky me I came across the corpse of a completely outfitted player. Had the works, full ammo, amazing sniper rifle, gps ect. I started to loot him, and suddenly I hear a noise behind me. It's another player coming at me with an axe. Coward I am, I ran for it, after getting out a silenced m9 pistol. Thing is, after 30 paces, I froze again. This time I couldn't move, and was stuck in a crouch. The guy with the axe sprinted after me. He was already bleeding and being mauled by zombies. I shot him five times point blank in the chest with the m9, and when he got close I shot him in the face (I don't miss.) This doesn't stop him and he kills me with one swipe of his axe. I don't understand 1, why I couldn't suddenly move, 2 why the guy wouldn't die even though he was already wounded, and 3, what the hell a fully tooled up corpse was doing at the beach. A player that tooled up wouldn't be killed by zombies (he had meds and meat) and a player would have looted something. This is why I think it was a hacker. I don't mind dying in this game, but I just don't understand why I froze when this dude looked at me, and why nothing I threw at him would put him down. Polkaman 60 Posted August 7, 2012 Some bodies get teleported when a server gets "nuked"
unitus77@live.com 61 Posted August 7, 2012 Probably not. 1: More likely a computer or keyboard problem. 2: The M9 is pretty week and altough you saw a shot to the head it might have not actually happened. Dayz is laggy as shit. 3: There has been a glitch since last patch where people die on logging into the game and then respawn on the coast with all your gear. Happened to me. slyder73 94 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) My buddy and I were all geared up and logged into a server last night. We were in a somewhat dangerous place due to having to log off the night before. We are back, in a small building, 10 seconds goes by while we watch door and listen for sounds etc. Suddenly we hear someone come running, he runs around the corner knowing where we are, we both open up and lo' and behold neither one of our guns will fire. *click* *click* and he shoots us both dead.Frustrating and clearly some kind of a script to take away our ammo or something, not to mention seeing through walls or where we were.So it may have been a script/hack that you saw, could have been lag....but at the state of things, I'd lean towards a hack.(That however, not as frustrating as logging on to the next server for an hour and then the whole server being teleported to the middle of the ocean. Now I'm stuck swimming and can't respawn, looks like an hour swim to get to shore.) Edited August 7, 2012 by Slyder73
Attican 1 Posted August 7, 2012 It wasn't lag, my ping was 30, ms, fps was 60. I had been playing for half an hour with no problems. Also, it wasn't a keyboard problem. I play arma all the time and this has never happened before, as my keyboard is awesome. As for not killing the player, 5 shots with a silenced m9 will kill someone, I have done it before. I have had lag before which meant when I fired several shots, was killed by the person I was shooting at, and then see the person who killed me die a few seconds after from my bullets. This was something fishy.
