AKA: Questions you already know the answer too, but I'm too thick to find with the Search function.

1) Nothing ruins games more then other players! Players are the bane of the gaming world... Ahem, or, something along those lines. Can I play DayZ without jumping into a public server? Is there a 'solo' mode? I understand it isn't the intent of the game, but I'm curious none the less.

1A) If there is no solo play, is there an intent to add it?

2) Arma II had a very... Counter intuitive control set up. Of unique frustration for me was the inability to quickly switch bewteen weapons, enter a car, etc. Am I going to find myself hampered in my escape attempt by having to scroll through a command menu while corpses chew my limbs?

3) I love your mod and wish to subscribe to your newsletter! I -WOULD- be willing to pay for a complete version of this game, even stand alone from Arma itself. Is there any view to making this a full game? Maybe 'kickstarter' could help?

1. No, not at the moment. No private servers, and no SP edition (yet)

2. Scroll wheel usually isn't necessary unless you're interacting with a item in the world, but your inventory is required to be used when bandaging/eating/etc.

to be fair as your new like i am the quickest way to get yourself upto speed with nearly everything is to read through some of the stickys in the new player area of the forum..

there is a wealth of information and tips/guides/videos that will help you alot..

But nothing beats getting into the world and having a go yourself! you will learn so much in the shortest space of time possible...

firstly i dont think there is an offline one player mode..

secondly the controls are a bit difficult to use when you first start off.. there are 2 very good posts that tell you what all the keys that are used do and how to use them..

this takes alot of practice and it does feel very cumbersome to start off with..

one piece of advice i will give you is learn to walk and make 0 noise at all, with this you can walk crouch very close to the Zed and they wont see you or hear you! also after using ladders and vaulting over fences remeber to use the crouch slow run again.. this will catch you out no end.. because you will start to move at full tilt making loads of noise!

One way to get away from other players is to stay away from the coast. About a kilometer in and you barely meet anyone. And if you do, they usually announce themselves with gunshots or by running really quickly.

Inside the towns however, it´s best to move about in a team. Otherwise you need to be super paranoid. Yesterday someone snuck up on me inside a building because I forgot about a couple of ladders outside.
