Backpack problems - Am I doing it wrong?

I managed to get hold of an Alice pack last night so started to wear it, however, my inventory capacity seems to be exactly the same as it was before.

Is the extra storage on a different page of inventory or something? Did I somehow bug the my game by picking it up? I just selected "take Alice pack" and it seemed to have kept my inventory in place. The new pack shows up on my inventory screen and character model.

You have to select the backpack and press the "open" button. there you wil get extra inventory space :)

You can double click your back to access it, or you can click on your bag then click the open bag button. If your not looting it will say 20/20 in the top left corner, meaning you have 20 out of 20 spaces left. If your looting it will look more like regular inventory with more spaces.

its a back pack, not your main inventory. All you have to do to open it is Press "G" to open your inventory, Click on the "Alice Pack" then at the bottom of the window there should be an option to "Open" your alice pack is now accessible till you close the window or click "Close" at the bottom. just move items across like you would when picking up loot.

No problem, I went a week or more before I discovered that backpacks were more than cosmetics.
