So, when I try to join without using six launcher i get a eroor that says something along the lines of sorry content has been deleted chenarus. Then when I use the six launcher I get a "data file to short". Someone please help. I'd love to play the game.

First of all make sure you launch both Arma2 and Arma2:OA. That's important. Then obviously make sure to launch DayZ as well as the latest Beta that's avaible on the SU network. Best to do this trough SIX Launcher for now. To be very sure just delete your DayZ folder and reinstall it trough SIX.
