The Battle of Vybor

Ok so this event occured on 08/06/2012 at around 7pm EST.

My buddy and I were driving a Offroad Pickup Truck around the west coast just looting all the citys searching for ghilles and such. We are south of Vybor searching the little house just past the bridge when I told him "Hey the server filled up, we need to keep an eye out for others." As we are driving into Vybor we hear at least two rifles open up on our truck. My buddy (driver) speeds into town, but gets stuck trying to go around a road block, and gets killed by a headshot. I get shot as well, and it drops me down to 5K health. The truck crashes into a wall, and I am still getting shot at so I jump out of the truck and take off running. I managed to lose our attackers, and run into the building with three stories. (Just like the one in Elektro). I lay on the roof prone for about 5 minutes, while I'm scrambling on Mumble for all our members to come assist. As I do, I see another player crouched in the courtyard by the truck so I take a few shots at him, and kill him. One bandit kill.... so I know I got the guy that killed my buddy.

Now at this time I was starting to wonder if it was only one attacker. As I'm about to start heading downstairs and to the street, I hear a AK-74 open fire south of me. Then another M16 opens up so the south east of me. So now we got two others fighting in town. As they duke it out, by buddy on mumble informs me that a military offroad is on his way to me with at least two people in it. So now we have three groups in Vybor. Mine (4 of us), our attackers (2-3) and another group (2-3). I continue to stay prone on the roof just scoping out the area. Then I start hearing footsteps underneath me. I peak around the corner and see a man in a ghillie suit about to ambush me. I take him out, but see somebody else running away. I switch positions in the building for my advantage, and wait patiently. I sit in the top roof watching the stairs while looking out the window to see if somebody takes the ladder. About 10 minutes go by and all of sudden a I see somebody crawl past on the outside roof, so I run out and take him out.

At this point I don't hear anymore firing, but my buddy that was killed eariler has made it back to the south side of the city with the aide of a Bike he found at Balota. Seeing how I have now killed three people we assuming that we are clear. As he is approaching the truck, he gets shot in the back and drops dead. Now we know at least one other is here. I lay on the roof once again and after about 10 minutes I see another man in ghille crawling up the street. Once again I pop up and take him out. So now I am at thee murders and a bandit kill. I tell my teammates that its time for me to sprint for the truck while they provide sniper cover. I sprint to the truck and managed to get it un-stuck from the rubble and was able to drive away.

Sorry for the long post, but it was defintily one of the scariest moments in the game for me since I had my NvGs, rangefinder, and M4 CCO SD with me. Hope you all enjoyed it.

That's an awesome story

IMHO One of the things that make DayZ the most memorable game I've played in 5+ years.

Yeah, so far this has been the highlight of my DayZ experience from the 2 months I've been playing. I wish one of the people that were involved was on here so I can hear the story from others perspective.
