Map markings, how long?

How long do map markings stay on a server? Until the person logs?

LOL, one of my friends accidently map marker'd our camp so we proceded to mark the entire map in random places with the same tag: Camp.

if you hover over them and press left shift+delete, it will remove them, if you add the markers to your notes under map, then i think they stay (public wont see these markers!), but be-careful because if you get killed and a bandit picks up map he can see your markers, so if you are going to mark map in notes of base camps etc, i would use disguised text , ie deer hut etc.

if one sees one which disappears again he would still know where it is

if one sees 38528 marks, he might figure its just a troll, plus could be difficult to tell them apart unless he noted the coords.
