McClusterfuk 1 Posted August 7, 2012 I just bought a new lenovo y570 i5 like a week ago and everything was running fine until the update. my laptop is the first one listed on this website http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087¤t-category-id=F41BC8E1656C5F85171FBDB172571912&action=init. should it really be stuttering or lagging while i play or is it dayz? redfield-77 315 Posted August 7, 2012 Dayz is a terrible benchmark for performance. Go into Arma and run one of the benchmarks in the single player missions. You can then adjust your settings based on the results. Remember if your graphics are too "low" it can effect your performance just as much as too "high". McClusterfuk 1 Posted August 7, 2012 i did that and i found that my average fps is only 24 on very low. Thats not very good considering when i went on http://www.systemrequirementslab.com and checked how good i could run DayZ and i was well past the recomended point but why can i barely run it on low detail. redfield-77 315 Posted August 7, 2012 You may not be optimized to play on very low. try running the benchmark on medium settings and see if the results are the same, worse, or better.
McClusterfuk 1 Posted August 7, 2012 idk i just hope when this becomes an independent game it isn't so horribly optimized i would love to play if it was ever smooth

Pherexion 2 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) On my mobile rig XPS 15z, with a core i7 dual core and GT 525m(overclocked to speeds of the GT 550m), I can run DayZ okay with some files loaded into ramdisk, I was able to achieve around 30~35fps in Elektro with 1366x768.Do you have 4GB or 8GB ram ? You should be able to run at least the DayZ files in ramdisk, to improve some disk access times.Try messing around with some optimization and tweak guides, they are very helpful to getting DayZ running smooth. I believe some startup perimeters help quite a bit, try these: -maxMem=2047 -cpuCount=2(two physical cores on that i5) -maxVRAM=(whatever the 555m has) -exThreads=7 Edited August 8, 2012 by Pherexion
