Empty Tin Cans + Toolbox = Scrap Metal?

Recommended Posts

So, I admittedly don't scavenge around for scrap metal in industrial sites, but it seems like acquiring the necessary amount of scrap metal would be difficult, as I've only seen about 2 pieces, where as I've seen countless jerry cans, tires and wind screens.

My idea is that with a toolbox, you could take a certain number of empty tin cans, and turn them into one scrap metal. Of course, it would have to be something like 10 tin cans(or another number that doesn't cause too much imbalance), but then they could also be stackable in groups of 5 or so maybe.

Thoughts?

Love it! But add this' date=' the prerequisite of having read the metals fabrication book. :)

While the book idea is nice, I don't think you need a certain skill just to smash some cans with a hammer to make scrap metal :)

No, your probably right, but putting that scrap metal together and welding it effectively, yes you certainly would need some training.

yes, putting the scrap together and welding i feel would fall under the repair category or something.

no one else has thoughts as to doing this, instead of just complaining about 'garbage loot'?
