I want to play a private match with a friend. We donwloaded day z and also downloaded tunngle but day z is not coming up in our list of missions. What else do we need to do?

Unfortunately you can't play private matches of any kind, all servers connected to the hive must be open to all users or it will be blacklisted.

You can purchase them from some hosting websites such as Vilayer.com and Multiplay.com although they cost about $1 per slot.

You can also host them from your own computer providing you have the the correct hardware and can part with 2TB+ bandwidth per month.
